I just watched "Retreat From Gettysburg". This was a complete surprise to me. What a refreshing historical documentary.
It had more facts and military detail than I am used to seeing on TV. This was as good as any 500 page Civil War history
with this much good detailed information you'll find. It proved that the Battle of Gettysburg was a tactical loss for Lee and
not a strategic victory for the North. Lee accomplished his goals in Pennsylvania which allowed his army to continue the war.
Lee's losses in men did not out-weigh the gains in military stores he was able to carry back to Virginia.
The retreat from Gettysburg was another military masterpiece by General Lee and not a turning point in the war.
