Francis Peyre Porcher--

Porcher was born in Charleston, South Carolina on December 14, 1824 to William and Isabella Sarah Peyre Porcher. Through his mother's side, he was a descendant of the botanist, Thomas Walter, author of Flora Caroliniana.
