Funeral for Lt. A. J. Buttram *PIC*

Andrew Jackson Buttram was from Carroll County, Ga. He was killed at the battle of Munford, Ala., April 23, 1865.
Said to be the last Confederate killed east of the Mississippi River.

He was originally buried on property owned by the Munford Methodist Church (built 1851) and located near the parsonage (iirc the church was caretaker for the grave). His body was exhumed a few months ago - possibly because the parsonage is now privately owned. The funeral and reburial are slated for June 27.
