(April 10, 1806 – June 14, 1864)
Graduated West Point July 1, 1827, 8th of 38 cadets

Resigned his commission on December 1, 1827, so

that he could enter the Virginia Theological Seminary

Elected Bishop of Louisiana October 1841

Offering his services in the Confederate States Army,

he was commissioned a major general on June 25, 1861

Killed in action June 14, 1864 during the Atlanta Campaign.

Fort Rucker – Edmund Winchester Rucker, Colonel

Born 7/22/1835 in Murfreesboro, TN

City engineer of Memphis during the late 1850

Enlisted in the Confederate States Army as a Private in

Pickett's Tennessee Company of Sappers and Miners.

Post war an industrial leader of Birmingham, Alabama.
