Col. Caudill survived the war but spent considerable time as an Union POW. He had a lot of relatives and members of his congregation in his regiment. I believe there was 33 Caudill men on the muster roll. The 10th spent considerable time fighting their Union kin in the Harlan County State Guard USA. With the corresponding bad feelings after the war. Later they were part of "Morgan's Men."
