Devil John Wright was another member of the 10th KY Rifles. Some of you may remember the movie...trail of the lonesome pine...the Devil Judd character was based on Devil John Wright. He got that name because as a lawman when he got on your trail he was going to keep at it. Devil John was famous during the war for his marksmanship and more so afterward. He join the same circus as his uncle...the giant Martin Bates...where he did trick shooting from the back of a horse before becoming a lawman. He must have not prosecuted any laws against polygamy as he is reputed to have four wives at the same time and 30 plus children. A big clan.
