This e-book consists of a number of letters sent to a family member who published a newspaper in Canada. The author was a native of Ancaster, Canada (near Hamilton) and left along with Erastus D. Holt to fight in the war. Both served with the 6th Massachusetts, Holt enlisted with the 49th New York and Gurnett joined the 22nd Massachusetts. The letters primarily cover the period of late 1861 to late 1862, with a few more dating fro 1865. Currently only available as an e-book on Amazon.
