Re: Holcombes Legion
In Response To: Holcombes Legion ()

The SC Holcombe Legion (named in honor of Lucy Holcombe PICKENS, the wife of Governor F. W. PICKENS of SC) was stationed at Adams Run, west of Charleston, until July 1862, when it was ordered to VA as part of Evans' Brigade. It returned to SC and was assigned to garrison duty at Charleston from Aug 1863 to Apr 1864, when it was again sent to VA.

Hope this helps.
