Joseph Proctor Huger

I am trying to find information(in particular any images that any one may know of) about a CSA soldier named Joseph Proctor Huger. He was in the Signal Corps. Killed in action around Mar. 15, 1864, at Fort Sumter, SC. He was 19 years old. I have a CDV image that has written on the back J. P. Huger and the date "18(the Cypher JPH)61" and I am trying to ID this image as being a pre war image of Joseph Proctor Huger around the age of 17.

I obtained the following information from an earlier posting on this message board from 2005.

Joseph Proctor Huger, age 17, enlisted as a private in Co. A (Webb's Battery), Manigault's Bn. SC Artillery, at Charleston, SC, on 21 Jan 1864. Two days later, at his request, he was transferred to the Signal Corps and soon was stationed at Fort Sumter. On 13 Apr 1864, while standing on a conspicuous part of the fort to watch the firing between Confederate batteries on James Island and the Federal guns on Morris Island, he began waving his cap when the Confederate guns made a hit. The action drew fire from Morris Island and he was killed instantly by the explosion of a 30-lb. Parrott shell. He is buried in the Huguenot Cemetery in Charleston.

Any further information about Pvt. J. P. Huger, especially involving any known images would be greatly appreciated.

Yours,
Michael Moses
