Solomom Isaiah Anderson. Served in the Civil War as a member of the S. C. Volunteers as annotated in the S. C. Department of Archives and History. He is listed in some records as "S. J. Anderson" due to his handwriting in which his "T's" looked like a "J". He was wounded in the shoulder. Enlisted September 13, 1861 in McBeth's Light Artillary. At age 20, was transferred from McBeth's Light Artillary to 1st Batallion South Carolina Sharpshooters which was consolidated with the 1st (Charleston) Battallion SC Infantry to form the 27th SC Infantry.Transferred to Co. B. 29th SC Infantry Sept. 29, 1863. Transferred to Co. F. 22 SC Infantry April 10, 1864. Wounded November17, 1864 (believed to be in the battle of Bermuda Hundred, Va.) Appointed 1st Sgt. July 15, 1864. Paroled April 9, 1865.
