Bryce:
I was rambling thru the old messages and saw your Nov 2004 posting on R. V. Morrison. Robert Venning Morrison was WIA (minie ball, right ankle) at Riddle's Shop 13 Jun 64, a member of Company A/Hampton Legion Mounted Infantry, not the 7th S.C.Cav. He was at Jackson Hospital from 13 June to 24 July, when he was released, probably for a wound furlough to his home in St. James Santee Parish (present day Charleston County, around McClellanville), but the muster rolls for this period are missing. He shows up present on the Sep-Oct and Nov-Dec 64 rolls, the last on file. He went home on a furlough to mount March 1865, and married Aletha Muldrow of Florence while on furlough. There is no record of a parole. He died in McClellanville on Oct 3, 1924.
