I can never keep it straight. Then you have Butler's 1 S.C., which I think without looking was artillery, and with tombstones, often the designator is left off for units such as the 1 S.C. Rifles, or 1 S.C. Militia, etc. I also cannot exactly figure the difference between the terms State Troops and Militia, although they seem to be used rather interchangably. At any rate, I throw the burials out for what they are worth, and hope that it may help someone with a person who disappeared into the mists.
