As many of you know the South Carolina UDC published a 7 volume series of reminiscences of war veterans in the 1990s.

In volume 2 there are a series of letters from a soldier named S.M. Crawford. He served in several units during the early part of the war.

In July 1864 he was part of a cavalry unit outside Charleston SC. He fought at Adams Run on or about July 2 1864.

Can anyone tell me his company and regiment?
