There is a chance that a photograph or a painting of your ancestor exists, but it is probably in a cousins, or distant cousins possession due to the time since the war and the successive generations being born.

Do a family tree and try to contact the other descendants and relatives. I found some photos of my ancestor, but not in his uniform.

Things get handed down and sometimes they are in the most unlikely places.
