I live 2 blocks from this site! It is on James Island,about 8 miles from the city of Charleston.
Drive down Folly Rd, towards Folly Beach..turn left on Grimball Rd.extension.Turn right at the first fork in the road.The site is at the end of Ft.Lamar Rd.They have a reinactment of the battle every year...you can contact the Chamber of Com.for any facts.
This was the only battle won by Southern troops..in the South,I understand .
