Lt. Col. Axalla John Hoole, 8th SCI

I am doing research on Lt. Col. Axalla John Hoole of the 8th SCI. I have all the basics, service dates, engagements, etc. I am interested in knowing if anyone knows where his letters home may be, a journal perhaps. He was from Darlington, SC and had the distinction of having lived in Kansas Territory from 1856-57. If anyone has any info related to his time in Kansas that would be much appreciated. I am also interested in photos of the Brunson family cemetery where he is buried with his wife Betsie and their children, the soldiers monument that was dedicated in Darlington in 1882, etc. Any info or photos would be much appreciated. Thought i would try this group before I headed back to SC to the archives at Columbia and a day trip to Darlington! Thanks for your attention! Michelle
