S. C. Medical College, Class of 1857

The S. C. Medical Colelge Class of 1857 consisted onj 92 graduates, the fourth largest class in the 19th Century, exceeded only by the classes of 1860 (114 graduates), 1852 (103 graduates), and 1861 (94 graduates). I suspect that virtually all of them served in the Confederate military forces during the war, and I would invite any comments from perople who can identify military service for any of them. Experience indicates that a susbtantial number of these doctors (perhaps as high as 25%) came from Southern States other than S.C.
