A substantial number of Confederate soldiers buried in the Beaufort National Cemetery are interred without unit designation. States respresented in the Confederate section include S.C., N.C., Georgia, Virginia, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, and Kentucky. Civilians are also buried there. It is probable that the soldiers and civilians probably came from those same states; there do not appear to be any western states represented. The soldiers include:
