A Mr. Ligon, who lives near to Old Church, in Hanover County, pointed out two graves -- no head boards. He took from the pockets of the men envelopes marked Charles E. Flagg, care of Capt. McIver, and W. E. Bell.

O. H. Middleton, Co K, 4th S. C. Cavalry, is buried in the family gorund of Mr. Ligon.

All these men were wounded in the fight at Mattedequin Creek, near Old Church.

They found many other graves not marked, the head-boards having been destroyed.

With great respect, sir,

Your ob'dt servant

E. P. JONES,

Ag't for S. C. Troops"
