O.L. Sturkey, thank you for the quick response. I did not add any infor in the first message that I sent because I had just found the site and was unsure of it.
Yes the BELK family was in Sumter County. My research goes back to the "original John" from England in 1710. This family is difficult to trace because there are so many children and duplications of the same name i.e. DARLING BELK. There is Darling, Sr. born 1735 in Pa. Darling, Jr. and Darling 111, and on down into the 1800s.
Please contact me off site for more information on this family I do not want to use up space not intended for long histories.
