I have a great deal of information on the Sullivan ancestry. JP Sullivan is John Pleasant Sullivan, Nimrod's brother. John Pleasant was in the Palmetto riflemen which fought in numerous battles in the civil war and he was listed as being at appomattox at the end. His daughter Mary married George Bell Timmerman, who became a US District Judge in SC. I had the honor of working as his last law clerk in 1962.. His son George Bell Timmerman Jr became Governor of SC and then a circuit judge. JP lived about a block from Nimrod in Anderson SC.

My sister, Anne Doggett, has carried on the work of several relatives in compiling and updating the Sullivan Genealogy. I do not mind burning a disc and sending information. If you have family tree maker and can access ancestry.com I can maybe send a gedcom disc, but I am not sure I am able to burn it. Anyway, I have some photos of interest.

The Sullivan ancestry is fascinating. One of the ancestors, Owen married a Hewlett, whose ancestry tracks back to the Samuel Jordan who arrived in Jamestown about 1610. Owen II's father married Elizabeth Claiborne, granddaughter of William Claiborne, one of the most interesting characters in Colonial history. The Claibornes married into the Butlers, who can trace their lineage to Charlemagne.

JP's grandfather, Pleasant Sullivan, was a rev war vet and his brothers also were veterans and there are some interesting stories from that side of the Sullivan family.
