I am in the possession of a letter written on April 2, 1863 from a H. J. or H. T. Beam. I know this is from my line as it is written to a documented person who is the wife of the soldier. Even using the censuses, I have been unable to come up with this H. J or H. T. Beam. He was either from Fairfield or Chester Counties. I have checked all the records that I can for these counties, but still at a stand still. The only "HINT" I have from the letter is that it was written from "Camp Whielden". Due to the writers spelling, I am not sure if this is spelled right. Does anyone know of any unit that was stationed at Camp Whielden? This would be a great break for me in my research.
