F. D. Ballentine, age 28, born in Lexington District, S. C., enlisted in Captain P. A. Eichelberger's Company, Edward's Regiment, South Caroline Volunteers, August 28, 1861 at Hopes Station, Lexington District, South Carolina, died June 23,1862, Winder Hospital, Richmond, Virginia, his widow, Mary J. Ballentine, filed claim for his effects May 9, 1863

This company subsequently became Company H, 13sth Regiment South Carolina Infantry

You may procure his service record files through the service noted in the red enclosed box above
