WIA (gunshot in right leg below the knee) at Trevilian Station, VA, 12 Jun 1864. Right leg amputated above the knee, 7 Jul 1864. DOW in hospital at Charlottesville, VA, 29 Aug 1864. m. Rebecca Ann DOWLING, 21 Jun 1859; she was with him in VA when he died, and brought his remains back for burial in the Barr Family Cemetery, near Leesville, SC.
