Elisha H. Norton Served in the 4th Miss. Cav. and was born in South Carolina about 1830. His first son was born about 1857 in South Carolina.
In the 1850 Sumter Co. census an Elisha H. Norton, age 21, is found in the home of Jared Norton.
In 1860 Elisha H. Norton is found in the Jefferson County, Miss. census with wife Maria and son. Maria’s maiden name may be Garrett/Garrott.
I am trying to determine if the two Elisha Nortons mentioned are one and the same and the marriage date and person, which if I believe will verify if they are in fact one and the same.
I have E. H. Norton’s CSR but it contains only 3 cards.
