I am writing a book on Culpeper's SC battery. They took part in the defense of C'ton (except for a brief stint in Wilmington) before being sent to Mississippi to help lift the siege of Vicksburg. They fought at Jackson, MS, Chickamauga, the Meridian Campaign and then in defense of Mobile, AL where a large part were captured at the fall of Ft. Gaines. On 4/9/65 most of the remaining men were captured at Ft. Blakely, AL

These men have never had their story told. I am hoping someone out there has information not in the Official Records about the men or actions of the unit. I welcome any family stories, letters, biographical info on the soldiers, photos (I have 4 or five)
