Cowan for the war, absent without leave, 3 days, Mar/Apr, 1863, next pay period docked one months pay by sentence of Court Marshal [sic], captured at Columbia, S. C. February 10, 1865, received at Hart’s Island, New York Harbor April 10, released June 16, 1865, resident of Anderson District, S. C., light complexion, light hair, gray eyes, 6’ -“
