Singletary for 12 months, admitted Chimborazo Hospital No, 4, Richmond, Va., September 26, 1862, flesh wound of thigh, transferred to Chimborazo Hospital No, 5, October 22, 1862, Dyspehsia, returned to duty October 24, 1862, January thru December 1862 muster rolls missing from files, admitted CSA Gen. Hosp., Charlottesville, Va. January 8 1863, Diarrhoea Chronic, returned to duty February 14,1863, recorded as 4th Corporal May/Jun, 1863, subsequently 3rd Corporal May/Jun,1864, no further records*

* There are no further Company I, muster rolls in the files, they were then located near Petersburg in reserve

C., joined for duty and enrolled April 28, 1861 at Lancaster, C. H. by Capt. McManus for one year, number of miles to place of rendezvous 40, admitted Episcopal Church Hospital, Williamsburg, Va. May 20,1862, Bronchitis, returned to duty June 23, recorded September 17, 1862, left in Maryland, captured October 1, 1862 at Antietam, paroled ca September 27,1862, sent from Fort McHenry, Md. to Fortress Monroe, Va., for exchange, no date, admitted Receiving and Wayside Hospital, Richmond, Va., no date, transferred October 29,1862 to the Globe Hospital., admitted same day to General Hospital No. 11, Richmond, furloughed 40 days November 20, on furlough end of year, remaining at home through June, 1863, present at Jul/Aug. 1863 muster, wounded at Cedar Creek and taken prisoner [October 19?]receipted for an issue of clothing October 10, 1864, present December 14, 1864 muster, no further records

** This company subsequently became Company H (Palmetto) Regiment South Carolina Infantry

Note: “The ‘Lancaster Invincibles’ is a company which was organized on the 8th Jan’y, 1861 in response to a call made by Gov. F. W. Pickens, and was called into service on 28th April, 1861, under command of Col. J. B. Kershaw, and was mustered into service of the Provisional Government on 22d May, 1861
