Hello Bryce,

I own all of Ron Field's South Carolina books and he DOES use period newspapers for sources as they ARE footnoted in every volume I own!

I also know Ron quite well and his dedication to research is strong and he uses the best sources he can find, especially considering he lives in England.

I have helped him over the years as have many CW historians I know.
