My gg-grandfather was Wesley Samuel Foxworth, born in 1825 in Marion County, SC. I've been told that he was in Company D, 20th Infantry, Hagoods Brigade, W.J. McKerrall Captain. Wesley (according to his grave marker) died on Sept. 23, 1864 at the Battle of Weldon Railroad and is buried in Marion. I was also told that he was the color bearer at the time of his death. How can I find out if this is correct and what battles he participated in?
