I'm sorry--of course, you would need names--I don't know what I was thinking of!!! My ancestor is Samuel Roper (son of Tyre Lewis Roper. He would have been in his 20s at the time of the Civil War, so it would seem that he would be in it somewhere. Tyre had several other sons too--Jesse, Elijah, possibly Amos, all within the correct age.

I don't live near enough to SC do a "live" search, so was hoping that I might be able to find something via the web (or some kind person that might have run across these names.)
