Lieutenant Richard Hazzard, CSA

Hello.

I trudge cemeteries with the sole purpose to find CSA soldiers grave sites. Regrettably, I cannot find any information concerning a gentleman I came upon today in Magnolia Cemetery, Charleston, South Carolina. His name was Richard Hazzard and held the rank of Lieutenant. According to the time-worn inscription, he fell in the defense of Fort McAllister on December 13, 1864 and was 23 years old at the time. The complete inscription on the marker was unreadable hence; I was unable to decipher the full context of it.

State? Regiment? Company?

Thank you for any information concerning this officer.

Yr Obt Srvt.
Gordon
