The South Carolina in the Civil War Message Board

Re: 26th South Carolina Infantry Regt.

One of my ancestors in this unit was Duffy G Stalvey. I have done a little research. The unit was at the battle of Seccessionville on James Island South Carolina and were an imp[ortant ingredient of th esouth winning that battle. If you are a Stalvey, you may know that our ancestors can be traced to the Horry Cnty area as early as 1690.
I have been active in the past with a reenactment group and fought in several of the reenactments of th ebattle of seccionville which is held in Charleston (Boone Hall Plantation) every fall. The sponsoring unit is the 10th South Carolina adn the Seccessionville Sons of Confederate Veterans.
Take it easy cousin.
