Help! I have come to a dead-end in locating anything about my gggreat-granfather Benjamin Patterson's war records. I know he lived in in Union Co SC in 1860 and that he was close to the NC state line but his other relatives all fought for SC regiments. But I have been unable to find his service records. He would have been about 40 years old in 1860. Can anyone help? Thanks a whole bunch!
