Finding James "Jim" Evans Agee's Civil War record.

I have searched for a great while and cannot find my great great grandfather's Civil War record. His name was James "Jim" Evans Agee and lived in West Tennessee. He was born September 21, 1835 and died March 1, 1913. His wife's name was Lavina Flowers Agee. They married November 21, 1857. I cannot find his records in the Confederate records. I think he was in the Hatchey Hunters which was in Trenton, Tennessee. I also think he was in the infantry, but I am not sure. He may have fought for the Union which many West Tennesseans did. I do have his brother, John's Civil War record. If there is any information that you could give me, I would certainly appreciate it.
