Thanks Jim- I would love to dig up the golf course but alas:-). There is some guy who has been doing alot of metal detecting around Collierville/Germantown the last several years. He has quite a collection of artifacts and an excellent set of detailed maps showing location of each find. Pretty neat stuff. I was out that way two days ago trying to track down a location mentioned in a wartime diary- guy said he was stationed in a stockade and blockhouse guarding the railroad "4 miles south of Collierville". Of course, theres is/was no RR in that area:-) so I'm wondering if maybe it was east toward Rossville(aka LaFayette).
