Dear Keith,

"Tennesseans in the Civil War" is your best bet currently. "A Journal of the American Civil War, Volume 4, No. 1" has an article entitled, "Henry Ashby's 2nd Tennessee Cavalry in the Confederate Heartland." "Hancock's Diary" IS NOT about Ashby's 2nd Tennessee Cavalry. It is about a west Tennessee regiment that was often identified as the 2nd Tennessee Cavalry.

I have been researching these guys on again and off again for a number of years and have found very, very little. I had a direct ancestor in Company H and I am a Cavalry officer in the Army today and I am very interested in doing a regimental history but it will take alot more research to get to that point.

I hope this helps.

Respectfully,
