TENNESSEE 50TH INFANTRY REGIMENT
Organized at Fort Donaldson on December 25, 1861. Captured there on February 16, 1862. Paroled at Vicksburg, Mississippi, in September 1862. Reorganized at Jackson, Mississippi, on September 23, 1862. Declared exchanged on November 10, 1862. Field consolidation with the 1st [Colms'] Infantry Battalion from November 1862 to February 24, 1864. Additional temporary field consolidation with the 41st and 51st Infantry Regiments in the spring of 1863. Consolidated with the 1st [Colms'] Infantry Battalion and designated as the 50th Infantry Regiment Consolidated on February 24, 1864.

Organized by the consolidation of the 50th Infantry Regiment and the 1st [Colms'] Infantry Battalion on Feb 24, 1864. Field consolidation with the 6th and 9th Infantry Regiments and the 4th Infantry Regiment, Provisional Army, from Dec 1864 to April 9, 1865. Consolidated as Company "I" with the 11th, 12th Consolidated, 13th, 29th, 47th, 51st Reorganized, 52nd Reorganized, and 154th Senior Infantry Regiments and designated as the 2nd Infantry Regiment Consolidated at Smithfield, North Carolina, on April 9, 1865 for purposes of surrender.
