Obit: Lt. Wm. S. Herron of the 7th Tenn

July 29, 1920: Wm. S. Herron, a Confederate veteran died Friday. He was born December 25, 1835, in Fayette County, W. Tennessee and served in the Civil War as Lieutenant in command of the Ordinance Train of the 7th Tennessee Cavalry under General Forrest. He married Miss Caroline Webb of Summerville, Tennessee in 1869 and with his family moved to Arkansas in 1871. Several years later, he located near Lonoke. One daughter, Mrs. J. W. McIntosh of Lonoke and four sons; Dr. A. W. Herron, Vitina, Oklahoma, E. R. and P.S. Herron, Lonoke, Arkansas and W.T. Herron of Collegeville, and 21 grandchildren, survives him. Burial was at the Lonoke Cemetery.

This person is not related to me, but is to some of my kin.
Lonoke, Arkansas is in central Arkansas. I was told by his grandson that he raised cattle and farmed in that area.
