Dear Sir,

The two volume set "Tennesseans in the Civil War" has a short history on the regiment's engagements and the counties from which each of the companies came. One volume has the list of all soldiers that served from Tennessee in alphabetical order with each name noting the company and regiment they served in.

The names from each regiment are not listed by regiment. For that information you may need to refer to the Compiled Service Records. You can find these on microfilm at the Eastern Tennessee Historical Society in Knoxville, the Chattanooga Public Library in Chattanooga, the Tennessee State Library and Archives in Nashville, the National Archives in Washington, D.C., the National Archives Annex in Atlanta, Wallace State College in Hanceville, Alabama.

You may want to refer to the two volumes also listed below.

Crute, Joseph H. Jr. Units of the Confederate States Army. Midlothian, VA: Derwent Books, 1987. Multi-volume set.

Sifakis, Stewart. Compendium of the Confederate Armies: Tennessee Volume. NY: Facts on File, 1995.

I hope this helps you in your research.

Respectfully,

Gerald D. Hodge, Jr.
