I am trying to verify a family story that my great-grandfather, James Richard (JR) Whitenton (or perhaps Whittington) served in the 15th Tenn Cav, CSA. Would like to find any unit rosters, etc. that would identify him as a member of that unit, with dates of service, rank, etc. He died in 1934 in the Texas Confederate Veterans Home.
