William A. Enos (Ennis, Eanes, Enas, Innis, etc)claimed to have served in 6th TN. Infantry, Co. A from 1861 to 1864. His claim for pension was rejected because the War Dept. had no record of his service in that Regt. Is it possible that he served in another unit?

That same month he was captured and taken prisoner, first to Knoxville, then to Nashville.
Escaped in the Spring of 1862 and returned to his Company and remained with them until Aug. ,1864.
In Aug,1864 William, who was a wagoner and corral master, was injured at Camp Nelson, KY by a wagon wheel hub during a stampede. He stayed with a citizen named Jordan until Oct. 5th, went to Nashville and stayed with Governor Andrew Johnson for 10 days. Was sent home to East TN. Was unable to return to his company before it disbanded to get his discharge papers.
