CSA surgeon, Dr. Lassiter

Hello I interviewed a wonderful old family doctor today.
All he knows about his grandfather is that he was a surgeon during the Civil War.
His name may have been William(???) Lassiter, who had one brother, name unknown. The brothers lived at Buena Vista Tennessee after the war.
The doctor I interviewed said his mother was the third child of the third wife.
His grandfather Lassiter died around 1900. He also felt he had become a doctor partly to please his mother because her dad had been a doctor.
With only these few clues, can someone help find the name of the CSA surgeon from Tennessee?? Who did he serve with??
Any ideas?
