Thank you for the quick response. I was pretty sure that this T.J. Appleton was not my ancestor, but had to make sure.

I live (am a prisoner of war) in Columbus OH trying desperately to find work back in God's country (anywhere south - way south - of the Mason Dixon line) so getting to the TN archives probably won't happen this year.

Maybe I can contact them and get a researcher there to pull the records.
