Faye, your site is God sent. I have been unable to go to the Archives to find info on my ancestor:

Washington G. Shelton was born in Va 09/03/1803. Moved to Nashville with parents. Married Lucadia Taylor 1826. They lived in what is now Cheatham County, but during most of their lives it was Davidson County. He died in 1863 a man of great wealth yet I have been unable to locate a Will for him or whether they had children. He did become legal guardian of a Warren Jourdan in 1836. Cheatham County does not have a will listed for him, so I suspect that the will was recorded in Davidson County. I would appreciate any info you might find on Washington and his wife.
