Confederates In Fentress County, Tennessee

Several documents were found in the National Archives in Washington D.C. which show that on November 22, 1861, my Great Uncle, William J. Auterson, sold hemp and again on September 24, 1862, he sold 480 pounds of beef to the Confederates (Confederate States of America) while living in Fentress County. The receipts are hard to make out but the 1861 document was signed by A. D. Taylor, A 2 (m?) of 19 Regiment. What Confederate outfit would this be? Where could I find their history?

Thank you!
