Re: Donelson Union dead
In Response To: Donelson Union dead ()

Carla, good luck with your search. Two years ago I found a plot of 6 Confederate soldiers' graves in an AR cemetery, marked with bricks. To make a long story short, one of them was my ancestor, so I ordered a VA marker and placed it on one of the graves and set the brick aside. Know one but the Lord knows if it was the right grave. It matters only to me now.

As for Ft. Donelson and other battles, it makes me sad that so many Southerners died in their home country and do not have marked graves.

"Today, there are many interesting sites to be seen at the Fort Donelson National Battlefield. There is a Confederate Monument which commemorates the hundreds of Confederate soldiers who were buried on the battlefield in unmarked graves...."
