The 25th was also involved in some raids on Union Training Camps in Kentucky in the fall of 1861. Specfically the Regt. attacked and broke up camps at Fountain Run (then Jimtown or Jamestown)between Scottsville and Tompkinsville, Mud Camp (east of Tompkinsville) and at Burkesville.
Two of my g-g-uncles served in the 25th:
Wade Jones, Prettyman Jones, they were recruited from school (Cumberland Institute in White County) and enrolled in the 25th at Livingston, TN in mid-summer of 1861.
