In Mark Twain's book, LIFE ON THE MISSISSIPPI,he refers to the Watson-Darnell feud. It was supposed to have occurred on the Kentucky-Tennessee border, and, I presume, near the Mississippi river. He mentions a place, a church called "Compromise." Did this feud really occur? Where exactly? Was it during or about the time of the war?
