I have been reading some of the post on the 25th Tenn Inf.I have 4 great uncles that were in the 25th Inf.Co.I they are:
1.)Ruben Hickman Loftis
2.)Henry Ruben Loftis - lost an eye in service
3.)Barton Ohrow Loftis - taken ill with black tongue fever
in Corinth Ms.
4.)Francis L.Loftis - fought for some time with 25th. till
he was discharged for not being old enough to fight.
Discharged August 1,1862 at the age of 17 his 18th
birthday was in October.He returned home and re-enlisted
as Sgt.13th Cav.Co.K under Nathan Bedford Forrest where
he remained till the end of the war.
I would love to have one of the books on the 25th Tenn Inf.
I live in Jackson Co. Tenn where i am 2nd Lt Commander in the Sons of Confederate Veterans Forrest/Longstreet Camp.
